Before you set out on your first trail riding adventure, check out these beginner tips from Addy Polaris. Addy Polaris is your destination for ATVs and more in New Philadelphia, OH!

Gear Up

First things first, make sure you have all the personal protective gear you need. Your ensemble should include an ATV helmet with eye protection, long sleeves and pants, sturdy boots, and riding gloves. Meanwhile, equip your ATV with a first-aid kit, a repair kit, and either a GPS unit or a map of the area. You should also remember to pack plenty of water and food!

Stay on the Trail

No matter how tempting it might be to stray from the beaten path, you should resist that impulse! Always stick to designated off-road trails, and never take shortcuts. This will reduce your impact on the natural environment, and ensure your safety and the safety of others.

Mind Your Manners

When you reach the trailhead, make sure to read all the signage, and take note of any trail rules and expectations. Remember to give other vehicles plenty of space on the trail, and treat everyone with respect. If you notice another rider who may need help, pull over and offer your assistance. We are all in this together!

We hope these trail riding tips help you stay safe and enjoy the ride! If you need more advice on ATV riding, feel free to consult the team here at Addy Polaris. We serve New Philadelphia, OH, and our neighbors from Dover.
